Necklace Made From An Antique 1909 Calendar Plate
Necklace Made From An Antique 1909 Calendar Plate

This necklace was once a calendar plate...
...Celebrating the year 1909
In 1909:
Construction on the Titanic began...
The first men reached the North Pole...
Indianapolis Motor Speedway opened...
In 1909 these things had not yet been invented:
Band-aids, sunglasses, penicillin, zippers, traffic lights.
The average worker earned between $200 to $400 a year.

The fine folk at Beyond Church are once again opening up their beach hut advent calendar in the huts along the esplanade in Brighton & Hove. Regular readers of Shedworking will know that each day in December, a different hut is open to the public from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, individually decorated along traditional Christmas lines. And there are also mince pies and mulled wine on offer. Well be featuring some of our favourites during Advent.
