Weve sure had our share of snow this year in Pennsylvania! I dont know what
its like where you live, but believe me, weve seen enough of the white stuff
this year! Had more snow and lots of sleet last night and hoping that we dont
lose power! Whats it like where youre at?

Artist’s studio in Girona

A lovely shedworking atmosphere in Girona, designed by Arquitecturia around a large ash. Heres what the architects say about it:
"In order to keep the magnificent tree and to avoid seeing the house from the inside of the studio, two main windows will focus the views to the corners of the garden. The plan of the studio is cross-shaped, where the main working space is double-height while the other four wings that gravitate around accommodate the entrance, the storage, the sink and the living area."Photographs by José Hevia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take a peek inside my studio...

I love Flow Blue china, and I love Art Nouveau, so I was thrilled when I came across
a few of these age-damaged plates a few years ago. I knew they would be perfect to
turn into some beautiful jewelry.
Because the floral motif pattern on this china dinner plate is large, I knew it would be
best suited to be made into a larger piece of jewelry - so I made this large statement
necklace. The shorter chain allows the necklace to sit right at the base of the throat,
and it is an eye-catching piece for sure!
I had the three huge tear-shaped pearls set aside for a while, just waiting
for the perfect design to come along. After I made the china part of this necklace I
knew right away that this was going to be their home. I love the way it turned out!

Myrtle Cottage Garden Studio

Winner of the RIBA South West Award 2015, Myrtle Cottage Garden Studio is the fine work of Bath-based Stonewood Design who describe is as "space to work, to sew, to play guitar, to sleep, or as a hide to observe the woodland wildlife. The key driver to achieving the brief was to create a design which worked seamlessly with the natural forms and levels of the garden, in order that an architecture is created which is less of a building, and more of a landscape."
The designers add out that "the intensive planted roof disappears into the flora of its surroundings. The walls become stone garden walls which retain the undulating level changes on the site. The project has been accepted by the local deer community, who have been spotted wandering over and around the Garden Studio."
The shedworking space is clad in pre-patinated copper to blend with the natural colours of the landscape and features a sofa bed, wood burner, and cupboards inside.

It has taken me a while to fill up my studio walls - displaying jewelry vertically
can be a challenge! I use both canvases and plates for most of my displays.
